Marijuana Applicants Revealed

May 20, 2010

On Tuesday we aired my interview with Dr. Michael Follick, one of the 15 applicants to run Rhode Island’s first medical marijuana retail stores.  He said his proposal includes hiring a security firm that guards nuclear submarines and giving patients discounts if they help him collect data about their health improvements.  Listen here if you missed it.

The RI Health department will be posting all of the applications on its website within the next week or so, but to be fair I thought I’d offer up this blog as a place for anyone to explain their proposal.

I’ll be contacting all of the applicants as soon as the health department releases their names.  The questions will be similar to what I asked Dr. Follick- how would a patient experience the center, where would it be located, how much would medicine cost, how would you take care of low income patients? (that question was lost on the cutting room floor for the Dr. Follick interview.)

Sound like a plan?  What questions do you have for the compassion center applicants?
