Not Really About Health Care

June 9, 2010

unless you consider art and music a form of medicine… But I’m going to go ahead with this post anyway.

A record store is rising from the ashes of The Stairwell Gallery on Broadway in Providence. Folks might remember Stairwell as the tiny art space next to Nick’s.  It was home to a lot of local art and even, at one opening, a cotton candy machine.

It was an unfortunate loss to the city’s art scene when Stairwell shut its doors.  But now friends of Stairwell are opening up Analog Underground, a source for non digital music.

The store is being headed up by Dave Lifrieri, perhaps better known for his role in the band Man Beard.  Good luck Dave!

    I can’t figure out if, after reading your article, I am too old or too young? I’ve never heard of The Stairwell Gallery, Nick’s, Analog Underground, Dave Lifrieri, or Man Beard.

    YIKES~!

    Maybe I am just tooooooooooooo handsome, LOL :}

    But seriously, in general, I’ve always had a thing for “art chicks” so… I support art projects and the reopening of this The Stairwell Gallery.

    :}
