CVS/Caremark and Walgreen’s fight is over

June 18, 2010

Today, Walgreen’s and CVS/Caremark decided that they can’t live without each other.

After a week of back and forth that would have prevented Rhode Island’s Blue Cross Blue Shield members from using a Walgreen’s to fill their prescriptions,  the two biggest pharmacy chains in the country decided to stop  fighting and make up.  The companies  announced today that they’ve reached a new contract agreement,  but won’t discuss what that contract contains.

Walgreen’s started the fight last week.  For more background, check out my earlier post.
