What Now? Implementing Health Reform in RI
I’m skimping on the blog right now because I’m prepping for our “Policy and Pinot” discussion at the Providence Athenaeum, 5:30pm to 7pm tomorrow (Tuesday) night. We’ll be talking with a group of experts about how Rhode Island might implement the health care overhaul. It’s a formidable panel-
–Tim Murphy-President and CEO of Beacon Health Strategies and former Secretary of Health and Human Services for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Instrumental in the development, passage, and initial implementation of the landmark Massachusetts health care reform law under Governor Mitt Romney.
–RI Lt Governor Elizabeth Roberts- Long time advocate for improving RI’s health care system. Now the chair of the Rhode Island Healthcare Reform Commission.
–Christine Ferguson-Research professor of George Washington University, past positions include Commissioner of the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, Director of the Rhode Island Department of Human Services, and Counsel and Deputy Chief of Staff to the late U.S. Senator John H. Chafee.
–Dr. Michael Migliori-Ophthalmologist-in-Chief at Rhode Island Hospital and a member of the board of directors for the political action committee of the American Medical Association.
Admission is free, but we only have a few seats left, so RSVP to 351-0203!
