Transition Healthcare confirms interest in Landmark

March 28, 2011

Transition Healthcare, the Nashville, TN company that unsuccessfully sued for a chance to bid on Landmark last year, is still interested in buying the medical center.

Transition Healthcare’s managing member Thomas M. Reardon confirmed to The Pulse today that the company is in active talks with Landmark and hopes to make a bid on the hospital.

In an article in the Providence Business News, Reardon declined to comment on whether Transition was a potential bidder.  The PBN also names Capella Healthcare Inc, a Franklin, Tennessee based hospital chain,  as a potential buyer.  UPDATE-Capella sent me the same statement it sent PBN-

I can confirm that Capella Healthcare is in active discussions with many hospitals right now who are seeking strong partners to be better prepared for the future.  We continue to selectively seek to partner with hospitals and communities where our resources and expertise can make a significant difference.  However, we are not at liberty to provide details on any specific hospital discussions at this time.

Landmark’s spokesman Bill Fischer says he’s not in a position to confirm any bidders.

So far, only Regional Healthcare Partners, also from Tennessee, has signed a non binding letter of intent to buy Landmark.  Bids are due on Wednesday.
