Waiting on Landmark Medical Center

April 25, 2011

We’re due to find out about Landmark’s chosen bidder by “early this week” according to Judge Michael Silverstein, who’s in charge of picking one of the three proposals to buy the struggling Woonsocket Hospital.

No word yet as to whether “early this week” means today.

The United Nurses and Allied Professionals Union (UNAP) is making its final argument against RegionalCare Hospital Partners  during an informational picket in front of Landmark today.  The union’s been unable to come to an agreement with the potential purchaser, and it’s no longer interested in talks with RegionalCare.

RegionalCare, for its part, has been buying full page ads in the Providence Journal, complete with photos of happy, smiling employees.  We’ll soon find out if the PR push is enough to overcome UNAP’s opposition.
