Travelocity for health insurance- discuss
That’s how most people explain the health insurance exchange. It’s an online marketplace for buying and comparing health insurance plans. Rhode Island is required to have one by 2014. We can either use one designed by the feds or create our own.
So of course, “independent man” Rhode Island is creating its own exchange. But what does that mean? What will it look like? What will it do? Why do we care?
I’m in the process of planning a forum with The Rhode Island Foundation to answer those very questions. The event is scheduled for Wednesday, October 19th from 5pm-7pm at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Warwick.
Scheduled panelists include-
- Lt. Governor Elizabeth Roberts
- Rhode Island Health Insurance Commissioner Chris Koller
- The President and CEO of Rhode Island Blue Cross Blue Shield- Peter Andruszkiewicz
What would you ask them? Who else would you want to hear from?
