Wham! Bang! Pow! Health reform?
Up in the air, it’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s… health care reform? The Accountable Care Act may not wear a cape and cute tights, but the law has one thing in common with Superman- its own comic book.
MIT economics professor Jonathan Gruber breaks down the health care overhaul with black and white illustrations by Nathan Schreiber in the simply named book “Health Care Reform.” At 160 pages, it’s probably more accurate to call it a graphic novel, but you get the idea.
Gruber is an economist, not a journalist, and he definitely has an opinion about the health care overhaul. In 2010, Ezra Klein with the Washington Post said Gruber had “probably been the most aggressive academic economist supporting the reform effort.” Gruber was instrumental in the creation of Massachusetts’s health care overhaul as well as the national reform law. So, he’s a little biased, but he knows what he’s talking about.
